Annual
training camp for NCC cadets at Khanapara
47 Assam R&V Sqn NCC Khanapara under the
command of Camp Commandant Lt Col Rahul Dubey, is conducting an Annual Training
Camp at College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara from Oct 07 to Oct 16. About 200 cadets (boys and
girls), one Associate NCC officers, three PI Staff and two PI guest staff are
participating in the camp. The camp aims to bring unity and discipline among
the students to make them better citizens.
The various aspects of training which are being imparted to the cadets include; Firing, Drill, Guard of Honour practice. Various competitions such as quiz, sports and cultural activities are also being planned to be conducted to identify potential cadets who will be fielded for various national-level camps. Besides this, preparations are in full swing for horse show, scheduled on Oct 13 at Veterinary College field.
The camp also aims to impart collective training to
cadets, provide them an opportunity to experience community living, and to
co-operate and work together. It also aims at inculcating leadership qualities,
spirit of adventure and sportsmanship amongst the Cadets. Through this camp,
cadets are also being prepared for the "B" and "C" Certificate Examinations, which gain them
additional avenues for employment in the Armed Forces and various Central
Government Services, as also for pursuing higher education. The activities
which will be included in the camp would be training on various subjects according
to the NCC Curriculum, competitions like firing and drill, cultural activities
to help cadets keep rooted to their traditions and sports and games, to develop
a love for the outdoors and sportsmanship.
